\qquad\quad\mathcal{\underline{\underline{ANSWER}}}

The slope of a velocity time graph gives acceleration

(i) Acceleration in AB

\sf  \dfrac{final \: velocity - initial \: velocity}{2}  =  \dfrac{30 - 0}{4}

⇒17.5 m/s

Acceleration in BC = 0 (since the body is at rest)

Acceleration in CD

\sf  \dfrac{final \: velocity - initial \: velocity}{2}  =  \dfrac{0-30}{2}

⇒-15 m/s

The area enclosed above time axis in a velocity time graph represents the displacement

(ii) Displacement in part AB

⇒ Area of ∆AB4

⇒ 1/2 × 30 × 4

⇒60m

Displacement in part BC

⇒ Area of rectangle 4BC8

⇒ 30 × 4

⇒ 120m

Displacement in part CD

⇒ Area of ∆8CD

⇒ 1/2 × 30 × 2

⇒ 30m

(iii) Total Displacement

⇒ Displacement of parts AB + BC + CD

⇒ 60 + 120 + 30

⇒ 210m
