Given that,

The velocity time graph of a particle moving along a straight line.

We know that,

In the velocity and time graph, the curved area shows the distance of the particle.

According to figure

We need to calculate the distance covered by the particle

Using formula of distance

Distance = covered area of abcd

Here, abcd = trapezium

So,

D=\text{Area of trapezium}

D=\dfrac{1}{2}\times h\times (a+b)

Where, h = height

a = b = base

Put the value into the formula

D=\dfrac{1}{2}\times6\times(6+18)

D=3\times24

D=72\ m

Hence, The distance covered by the particle is 72 m.
