The velocity -time graph of a SUV is given below.


Calculate the acceleration and distance travelled by the car in

a) the first 2 seconds

b) t = 2 s to t = 5 s

so

1)initial velocity of car = 0m/s

final velocity of car = 15m/s

time = 2s

so 15-0/ 2 = 7.5 m/s^2

2) so here we have to find acceleration

now velocities on point B and point C are 15m/s

U = 15m/s

V = 15m/s

t= 5s-2s = 3s

a = 15-15 /3 = 0/3 = 0m/s^2 which means constant velocity

3) so now

V = 0m/s

U = 15m/s

t = 1s

a = 0 -15/ 1 = -15 m/s^2
