The velocity - time graph for two bodies A and B are shown. Then the acceleration of A and B are in the ratio:

A

tan25∘ to tan40∘

B

tan25∘ to tan50∘

C

sin25∘ to sin50∘

D

cos25∘ to cos50∘

ANSWER

Acceleration     a=ΔtΔv

Thus slope of velocity Vs time curve gives the acceleration of body.

Line A makes an angle of 25o with time axis, thus its slope is equal to  tan25o.

Hence acceleration of body A      aA=tan 25o

Line B makes an angle of 50o with time axis, thus its slope is equal to  tan50o.

Hence acceleration of body B      aB=tan 50o

⟹   aA

Answer:

slope = Δx/Δt = tanΘ

∴ for A         acc. of A= tan(45)= 1/√2

∴for B           acc. of b = tan(60)=√3
