Given:

Velocity time graph

To Find:

(i) its acceleration

(ii) its velocity and

(iii) the distance covered by the cyclist in 15 seconds.

Solution:

we know,

a= (v-u) / t

from the graph it is clear that velocity is always constant

∴ a = (v-v) / t      {initial velocity = final velocity}

a = 0

velocity is same throught the journey

so at t = 15 sec

v = 20m/s

distance covered = area under V-T graph

distance covered = 20  * 15 = 300m

d = 300m

So, acceleration = 0 , velocity = 20m/s and distance = 300m.
