harshmata3oybvei: sorry but when I searched for this I found that the total distance = Sum of all areas enclosed by graph (whether it may be below x axis or above x axis we have to add them all)
meenakshi997sa: ya u will get the area below x axis to be -ve.....
meenakshi997sa: i wrote that only na... that area under the graph give
harshmata3oybvei: we have to take it positive in case of distance. bcoz distance is scalar and has no direction
meenakshi997sa: but in question we have been given to find displacement...
harshmata3oybvei: ok you are correct But I m giving explanation for above query of mine
meenakshi997sa: oh sorry i thought that u r asking abt ques
harshmata3oybvei: by the way happy Friendshipday day

Answer: The displacement will be 8 m.

Explanation:

Displacement is the length initial point to  the final point.

An area below velocity-time graph gives displacement.

According to graph,

Displacement D = area ABCD+area BEFG+area GHIJ

D=4\times2-3\times2+3\times2

D=8 m

Hence, The displacement will be 8 m.
