Answer:

We know that,

Any 2 adjacent angles of a isosceles Δ are equal.

Let the base angles be x° and x°

Vertical angle of an isosceles triangle =80°

So,  Sum of angles of the Δ ,

( x + x + 80)° = 180°

⇒ 2x + 80 = 180

⇒ 2x = 180 - 80

⇒ 2x = 100

⇒ X = 100/2

⇒ X = 50

So, its base angles are 50° and 50°

Answer :

  • The base angles of triangle are 50° and 50°.

Step-by-step explanation ::

To Find :-

  • The measurement of the base angles

Solution ::

Given that,

  • The vertical angle of an isosceles triangle is 80°

As we know that,

  • The base angles of an isosceles triangle are equal.

Let us assume the two base angles as x and x,

Therefore,

  • x + x + 80° = 180°

➠ x + x + 80 = 180

➠ 2x + 80 = 180

➠ 2x = 180 - 80

➠ 2x = 100

➠ x = 100/2

➠ x = 50

The value of x is 50.

Hence,

The measure of base angles of traingle are 50° and 50°.

Now, Verification

  • x + x + 80° = 180°

We have,

  • L.H.S = x + x + 80
  • R.H.S = 180

By putting the value of x,

➠ 50 + 50 + 80

➠ 50 + 130

➠ 180

Now,

  • L.H.S = 180
  • R.H.S = 180

Hence, Verified !
