Weather related phenomenon caused due to up and downdraught of vertical movement of air and is known as Air current. Differences in temperature,Pressure or impurity concentration is responsible for Air current because the warmer air is less dense and that's why it's lighter than cooler air. It creates low pressure on the surface as rising air associated with turbulence.

So, vertical movement of air is called air current..
