The vertical ray of the sun give more insulation than the slanting rays:

  • Usually, the sun rays fall on the earth surfaces slantingly and vertically as well.
  • This is due to the earth is slightly tilted of about 23 degrees because of the collision of an asteroid on the surface of the Earth.
  • The sun rays which fall vertically will have more insulation than slanting rays.
  • This is due to the rays which are slanting have to intrude into the ozone layer and atmosphere more than the vertical rays and hence have lesser insulation than the vertical rays.
  • Another one is the vertical rays will have a particular place of impact which can produce more heat than the slanting rays as they will pass through a large surface area.
