The vertices of a triangle are A(2, 1), B(4, 3), and C(4, 6) Find the area ΔABC.

Solution :-

Area = 1/2 [ x1 ( y2 - y3 ) + x2 ( y3 - y1 ) + x3 ( y1 - y2 )

Here

x1 = 2 x2 = 4 x3 = 4

y1 = 1 y2 = 3 y3 = 6

Substitute values in formula

→ Area = 1/2 [ 2 ( 3 - 6 ) + 4 ( 6 - 1 ) + 4 ( 1 - 3 )

→ Area = 1/2 [ 2 ( - 3 ) + 4 ( 5 ) + 4 ( - 2 )

→ Area = 1/2 [ - 6 + 20 - 8 ]

→ Area = 1/2 × 6

Area = 3 unit²
