I was lucky enough last month to spend some time staying in a lovely village homestay in the Kumaon with The Folk Tales, a company that we are very excited to partner with as one of our Specialist Operators, after they recently won the Outlook Responsible Travel Award for Best Immersive Travel Experience. As someone who has rather begrudgingly spent too many weeks this summer in Delhi, it was good to get out of the city, and head to the hills, even with the warning of a massive storm ahead.
The dire weather warnings were, as it happened, a storm in a teacup, and whilst there was some rain, the arrival into Kathgodam was a cool relief from the heat of the plains.
