Hey mate,

Parallel lines are when

A1 /A2 = B1/ B2 not equal to C1/C2

4/2 = 6/ k not equal to 1/7

2 = 6/k

k = 3

Thus the value of k must be 3 so that the lines will become parallel !!

Hope you find it helpful!!!!

Answer:

If two lines are parallel then their slopes are equal.

=}

m1 = m2

In first equation, 4x + 6y - 1 = 0

m1 \:  =  \:  \frac{4}{6}

m1 \:  =  \:  \frac{2}{3}

In second equation, 2x + ky - 7 = 0

m2 \:  =  \:  \frac{2}{k}

but,

m1 \:  =  \: m2

so,

 \frac{2}{3}  =  \frac{2}{k}

=} by comparing,

k = 3
