Answer:-

Given : Volume of rod = 1386 cu cm and height = 1 m or 100 cm

Volume of rod (iron rod is in the shape of cylinder) = πr²h

1386 = 22/7*r²*100

⇒ r² = (1386*7)/2200

⇒ r² = 9702/2200

⇒ r² = 4.41

⇒ r = √4.41

⇒ r = 2.1 cm

Diameter = 2.1 ×2

Diameter = 4.2 cm

Determining the diameter of iron rod.

Answer: diameter of 1 meter  iron rod having volume 1386 centimeter cube is 4.2 centimeters.

Explanation:

given that

volume of the rod = 1386 centimeter cube

length of the rod = 1 meter = 1 x 100 centimeter = 100 cm

we have changed unit of length in centimeter because volume is given in cubic centimeter .

As shape of the rod is cylindrical we will be using formula of volume of cylinder to determine diameter.

Volume of cylinder = \pi r^{2} h

In our case height = length of rod = 100 cm and Volume = 1386 cm cube

On substituting the value in formula of volume we get

1386 = (22/7) x r² x 100

=> (1386  x 7 )/(22 x 100) =  r²

=> 4.41 =  r²

=> r = √4.41 = 2.1 cm

diameter = 2 x radius = 2 x 2.1 = 4.2 cm.

Hence diameter of 1 meter  iron rod having volume 1386 centimeter cube is 4.2 centimeters.
