The volume of 40 g of a solid is 15cm3. If the density of water is 1g/cm3, will the solid float or sink in water? State reason.

it will shrink because it density is more than water

Density of solid = Mass/Volume = 40/15 = 2.6 g cm3
Since density of solid is more than water, therefore, it sinks.
