AnsWer:-

The substance will sink in the water.

Step by step explanation:

Given:-

  • Mass of the substance = 50g
  • Volume of the water = 20cm³

Need to find:

  • Substance will sink or float?

Explanation:-

As we know that,

Density of substance = mass of substance /volume of substance

Putting values in this formula,

We get;

Density of substance = 50g/20cm³

=> 2.5g/cm³

As we can see that,

The density of the substance is more than that of water (1g/cm³) as a result of which substance will sink in water.

⚜ The body will sink in water.

✒ Given...

✔ Mass of the body= 50 g

✔Volume of the body= 20 cm^3

✔Density of water= 1g/cm^3

✒ To find...

✔Whether the body will sink or float in water..

 \sf{ \mathrm{ \large{ \green{we \: know \: that...}}}}

  • 1. A body floats in a liquid if its less than the density of liquid.
  • 2. The body will sink if its density is more than the density of the liquid.
  • 3. The body will remain suspended if its density is equal to the density of the liquid.

 \large{ \mathrm{ \purple{so \: first.. \: we \: have \: to \: find \: out \: the \: density \: of \: the \: body}}}
