Hi Mate !!

Volume of CUbe = ( edge )³

Edge of cube = 1.2 m => 120cm

Volume = ( 120 )³

= 1728000 cm³

= 1728 × 10³ cm³

 = 1.728 \times  {10}^{6}  {cm}^{2}

option ( a ) is ryt !!

Answer:

b) 1.7 x 10^6

Explanation:

Given edge length is 1.2 m, which is equal to 1.2 x 10^2 cm

Therefore, volume is (1.2 x 10^2)^3

which comes as 1.728 x 10^6.

Now at this point getting this answer will lead most of the people to take (a) as the correct answer. But keeping in mind the question belongs from the chapter 'Units and Measurements' we need to consider the least significant number while multiplying, which is 2. So instead of (a) the correct answer is (b).
