Hey!!

Here is your answer:-

A cube that is 64 cm ^3 is 4 cm long on all edges.
Let’s look at the 1 cm^3 cubes that make it up.
There are 8 corner cubes with 3 surfaces showing. 3 * 8 = 24.
There are 24 non-corner edge cubes with 2 surfaces showing. 2 * 24 = 48.
There are 24 cubes with only 1 surface showing. 1 * 24 = 24.
Adding those surfaces up we get 24 + 48 + 24 = 96 surfaces showing.
Since each cube’s surface is 1 cm^2 then the surface area of the whole cube is 96 cm^2.

Answer:

volume of a cube = a^3

64 cm ^3              =a^3

a= 4 cm

total surface area of a cube = 6a^2

                                              = 6 x 4 x 4

                                             =  96 cm^2

Good luck
