Given:

The volume of the cube is 8 cubic unit

To find:

The total surface area of the cuboid formed

Solution:

We have given the volume of the cube as 8

and we have the formula for the volume of the cube as

Volume  = a³

  • a³ = 8
  • a³ = 2³

so the edge of the cube is 2 unit

according to the condition of the question, three cubes are attached together to form a cuboid

so the measurement of the cuboid are:

  • Length = 2+2+2 = 6 unit
  • Breadth = 2 unit
  • Height = 2 unit

The total surface area of the cuboid is

  • 2(lb+bh+lh)
  • 2(6×2+2×2+6×2)
  • 2(12+4+12)
  • 2×28
  • 56 sq. unit

The total surface area of the cuboid formed is 56 sq. unit
