let breadth = 3x and height = 2x

volume = l*b*h
     1296 =24*3x*2x
      1296=144x²
         x² =9
         x  = 3
breadth  = 3x = 9
height    = 2x = 6

Breadth is 9m and height is 6m.

What is volume of a cuboid and example?

  • Volume of cuboid = length × breadth × height.
  • Here, length = 14 cm, breadth = 12 cm and height = 8 cm.
  • Volume of cuboid = 14 × 12 × 8 cubic cm. = 1344 cubic cm.

What is the formula of volume?

  • Where as the basic formula for the area of a rectangular shape is length × width, the basic formula for volume is length × width × height.
  • How you refer to the different dimensions does not change the calculation: you may, for example, use 'depth' instead of 'height'.

According to the question:

3x*2x*24m = 1296m³.

6x²*24m = 1296m³.

6x² = 1296m³/24m.

6x² = 54m².

x² = 54m²/6.

x² = 9m².

x = 3m.

Hence, breadth = 3x = 3*3m = 9m and height = 2x = 2*3m = 6m.
