The volume of a cuboid is calculated as follow:
Length (L) x Width (W) x Height (H) = LWH
Since volume of the cuboid is product of the length, width and height, finding the factors of their product would give us possible measurements.
Find factors for Ky^2-6ky+8k
= ky^2-6ky+8k
= ky^2-4ky-2ky +8k (that is -6ky can also be -4ky-2ky)
=factorize...=ky(y-4)-2k(y-4)
=(ky-2k)(y-4)
=y(k-2)(y-4)
Therefore the possible dimensions are y, (k-2) and (y-4).
