and
lateral surface area or curved surface area of cylinder = 2πrh
and
total surface area of cylinder = 2πr² + 2πrh
here,
volume = 308 cm³
=> πr²h = 308
=> πr² = 308/8 = 38.5 cm² .....↓
=> r² = 38.5 /π = 38.5 × 7/22
=> r² = 12.25 = 3.5²
=> r = 3.5 cm
Now,
Lateral surface area = 2π×3.5×8
=> 56π = 56×22/7 = 176 cm²
Now,
total surface area= 2πrh + 2πr²
= 176 + 2× 38.5
= 176 + 77
