Solution:-
Given : Volume of cylinder = 308 cu cm and height = 8 cm r = ?
Volume of a cylinder = πr²h
308 = 22/7*r²*8
r² = 308*7/22*8
r² = 2156/176
r² = 12.25
r = 3.5 cm
Now,
Lateral surface area of cylinder = 2πrh
= 2*22/7*3.5*8
lateral surface area = 176 cm²
Total surface area of cylinder = 2πr(r + h)
= 2*22/7*3.5(3.5 + 8)
= (154*11.5)/7
Total surface area = 253 cm²
