SOLUTION:-

Given:

•The volume of a cylinder is 308cm³.

•Its height is 8cm.

To find:

The lateral surface area & total surface area.

Explanation:

We know that, volume of cylinder is πr²h.

=) πr²h = 308

 = > \frac{22}{7} \times {r}^{2} \times 8 = 308 \\ \\ = > \frac{176}{7} \times {r}^{2} = 308 \\ \\ = > {r}^{2} = \frac{308 \times 7}{176} \\ \\ = > {r}^{2} = \frac{2156}{176} \\ \\ = > {r}^{2} = 12.25 \\ \\ = > r = \sqrt{12.25} \\ \\ = > r = 3.5cm

Now,

Lateral surface area of the cylinder:

=) 2πrh

=) 2× 3.14 × 3.5 × 8

=) 175.84cm²

&

Total surface area of the cylinder:

=) 2πr² + 2πrh

=) 2×3.14×3.5×3.5 + 2×3.14× 3.5 ×8

=) 76.93m² + 175.84m²

=) 252.77m²

Thank you.
