GIVEN:

  • Volume of a cylindrical vessel = 27720 cm³
  • Radius of its base = 21 cm

TO FIND:

  • What is the C.S.A. of the vessel ?

SOLUTION:

Let the height of the cylindrical vessel be 'h' cm

To find the volume of the vessel, we use the formula:-

Volume = πr²h

On putting the values in the formula we get

Take π = 22/7

\sf{\mapsto 27720 = \dfrac{22}{7} \times (21)^2 \times h }

\sf{\mapsto 27720 = 22 \times 63 \times h }

\sf{\mapsto 27720 = 1386 \times h}

\sf{\mapsto h = \cancel\dfrac{27720}{1386}}

\bf{\mapsto h = 20 \: cm }

Now, we have to find the Curved surface area of the vessel

To find the volume of the vessel, we use the formula:-

C.S.A. = 2πrh

According to question:-

\sf{\mapsto C.S.A. = 2 \times \dfrac{22}{7} \times 21 \times 20}

\sf{\mapsto C.S.A. = 2 \times \dfrac{22}{\cancel{7}} \times \cancel{21} \times 20}

\sf{\mapsto C.S.A. = 2 \times 22 \times 3 \times 20}

\bf{\mapsto C.S.A. = 2640 \: cm^2 }

 ❝ Hence, the C.S.A. of cylindrical vessel is 2640 cm² ❞
