Answer:-

Given:

Initial Volume (V1) = 10 L

Let the final Volume be V2 and initial Pressure(P1) be "P".

The pressure becomes 4 times of itself when the volume is decreased.

→ Final Pressure = 4* P = 4P

We know that,

Boyle's law of gases states that at constant temperature the pressure of a gas is inversely proportional to it's Volume.

 \sf \implies \large{P \:  \:  \propto  \:  \:  \dfrac{1}{V} }

→ PV = k (Constant)

→ P1V1 = P2V2

→ (P) * (10) = (4P) * (V2)

→ 10P/4P = V2

→ 2.5 = V2

→ V2 = 2.5 L

Hence, the Pressure becomes 4 times the original if the volume is decreased to 2.5 L.
