Answer: 59.6\times 10^{19} molecules.

Explanation:

According to the ideal gas equation:'

PV=nRT

Pressure of the gas = 760 mmHg= 1atm

Volume of the gas = 22.4ml = 0.0224L

Temperature of the gas = 0°C = 273 K(0°C = 273 K)

Value of gas constant in in kilopascals = 0.0821 atmL\K mol

n=\frac{PV}{RT}=\frac{1atm\times 0.0224L}{0.0821 atmL/K mol\times 273 K}=9.9\times 10^{-4}mol

According to Avogadro's law,

1 mole of every substance contains avogadro's number 6.023\times 10^{23} of particles.

Thus 9.9\times 10^{-4}mol moles of gas will contain=\frac{6.023\times 10^{23}}{1}\times 9.9\times 10^{-4}=59.6\times 10^{19} molecules.
