Given :

  • The volume of a metalic cylindrical pipe is 748 cm³.

  • Length is 14 cm and its external radius is 9 cm.

To find :

  • Its thickness =?

Step-by-step explanation :

It is Given that :

The volume of a metalic cylindrical pipe is 748 cm³.

Length / Height of the cylindrical pipe = 14 cm.

External Radius, (R) of the cylindrical pipe = 9 cm.

Let, the internal radius of the cylindrical pipe be r.

Now,

As We know that,

Volume = π h (R² - r²)

Substituting the values in the above formula, we get,

748 = 22/7 × 14 (9² - r²)

748 = 44 (9² - r²)

748/44 = 9² - r²

r² = 81 - 17

r²= 64

r² = 8²

r = 8.

Therefore, The thickness of the cylindrical pipe = 8 cm.
