It takes 7200 minutes to fill the reservoir.

Given

The volume of a reservoir = 216 m^{3}

The rate of flow of water = 30 L/per minute

To find

The amount of time it will take to fill the reservoir.

Solution

We can follow the given steps in order to solve this question easily and correctly. Now, from the knowledge, we have of this chapter in Maths we know that,

1 m^{3} = 1000 L

If we convert the volume of the reservoir in terms of liters (L) we have,

The volume of a reservoir = 216 m^{3}

                                           = (216 m^{3} × 1000) L

                                           = 216000 L

Thus, we have the volume of a reservoir as 216000 L.

Now from the question, we know that

The rate of flow of water = 30 L/per minute

Therefore,

The amount of time taken to fill the reservoir = \frac{216000}{30}

                                                                           = 7200 minutes

Hence, it takes a total of 7200 minutes to fill a reservoir of volume 216 m^{3}
