The volume of an irregular object cannot be measured by a simple calculation.
i) Suggest a method to find its volume.
ii) Name and state the principle used in the above case.

1- Take water in measuring cylinder and record its measuring 'A'
2- Put that object inside and now record its measurement - 'B'
3- Subtract 'A' from 'B' and you will get the volume.. :)

Archimedes Principle
It states that when a body is completely or partially immersed in a liquid then the amount of liquid displaced is equal to the volume of the body.

i) Take water in a measuring beaker and drop the stone into it. The raise in water level/ displaced water shows the volume of stone

ii) Archimedes principle is used in this phenomenon with the buoyant property the liquid.

Statement: If a body is completely or partially immersed in a fluid, the amount of fluid displaced results the volume of the body.
