Explanation:

density of volume bag = 1250/150

=8.33 g/cm^3

density of water is 1 g/cm^3

as density of bag is greater than density of water, it will sink in it.

Given:

  • Volume of bag = 150 cm³
  • Mass of bag = 1250 g

To find:

  • Will it float on water ?

Calculation:

First of all, calculate the density of the substance in the bag.

  • Density is calculated as the mass divided by the volume of the object.

 \rho =  \dfrac{mass}{volume}

 \implies \:  \rho =  \dfrac{1250}{150}

 \implies \:  \rho =  8.33 \: g/ {cm}^{3}

  • Now, density of water is equal to 1 g/cm³.

  • Now, an object has a density greater than the density of water, it sinks.

  • This is because, the buoyant force provided by water on the bag will be lesser than the weight of the bag.

Hence, the bag will sink in water.
