Curved Surface Area (CSA) of the cylinder = 440cm^2

Given :

Volume of Cylinder = 1100 cm^{3}

Radius (r) = 5cm

To Find :

Curved surface Area (CSA)

Formula Applied :

\text{ Volume of cylinder}= \pi r^{2} h

\text{CSA of the cylinder}= 2\pi rh

Solution :

We have to find CSA of the cylinder. To know CSA we have to know Height of the cylinder first.

To find height Expand the values of volume of cylinder,

\text{Volume of cylinder} = 1100\:cm^3 = \pi r^{2} h

\implies 1100 = \pi r^2h

\implies 1100 = \frac{22}{7} \times 5 \times 5 \times h

\implies 1100 = \frac{22}{7} \times 25 \times h

\implies \frac{1100}{25} = \frac{22}{7} \times h \implies \frac{220}{5} = \frac{22}{7} \times h

\implies \frac{220}{5} \times \frac{7}{22}=h  \implies \frac{10}{5} \times \frac {7}{1} = h \implies \frac {70}{5} = h

\implies \texttt{h = 14cm}

Now Substitute the values to find CSA of the cylinder

\text{Curved Surface Area of the cylinder} = 2\pi rh

\implies \text{CSA} = 2\pi rh

\implies \text{CSA}= 2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times 5 \times 14

\implies \text{CSA} = 2 \times 22 \times 5 \times 2 \implies  44 \times 10

\implies \texttt{CSA = 440$cm^{2} $}

\textbf{Curved Surface Area of the Cylinder } = 440cm^2
