Answer:

a. 16 cm

b. 10 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume of cuboid = l×b×h.

Given, Volume = 1280 cm³, length = 8 cm.

Let the ratio be 8x : 5x.

=> 8 × 8x × 5x = 1280

=> 320x² = 1280

=> x² = 1280/320

=> x² = 4

=> x = 2

Breadth = 8×2 cm = 16 cm

Height = 5×2 cm = 10 cm

Formula of Volume of cuboid is l×b×h.

As the breadth and height are in ratio, we assume breadth as 8x and height as 5x.

Volume = Length × Breadth × Height

1280 cm² = 8cm × 8x × 5x

1280 cm² = 8cm × 40x²

 \frac{1280}{8 \times 40}  =  {x}^{2}

4 = x²

 \sqrt{4 }  = x

2 = x

We assumed height as 5x

So, 5 × x = 5×2 = 10cm

and

Breadth = 8x = 8×2= 16cm
