the volumes of three kind of materials are as 3:4:7 and the weights of equal volumes of the three materials are as 5:2:6 .
if they are mixed to form a material of 52kg find the weight of the third material in the mixture .

Let the volumes of the 3 be: 3v, 4v and 7v

Densities of the three are 5d, 2d and 6d

So, the weights are 15dv + 8 dv + 42 dv = 65 dv

But the mixed form a material is 52 kilo grams.

the weight of the third material = 42 x 52 / 65 kg = 2184 / 65 kg

= 33.6 kg .

Hence , the weight of the third material in the mixture is 33.6 kg .
