Given :  The volumes of two similar pyramids are in the ratio 8:27.

To Find : What is the ratio of their surface areas?

Solution:

The volumes of two similar pyramids are in the ratio 8:27.

Ratio of Volume = (ratio of sides)³

 8 : 27 = 2³ : 3³

=> ratio of sides = 2:3

ratio of  surface areas  = ( ratio of sides )²

= 2² : 3²

= 4 : 9

Hence  ratio of their surface areas is  4 : 9
