The volunteer was instructed to arrange as many chairs as the number of guests in the

auditorium in such a way that the number of rows was equal to the number of chairs in

each row. There were 39 chairs in each row. Out of the total seats 21 were left unoccupied.

How many guests came to the function?

because

no of chair = 39

no seats unoccupied = 21

so number of guest came = 30-21=18

39 Chairs were in Each Row.

Therefore, Number of Rows= 39

Then, Number of Chairs= 39*39= 1521.

So, 1521 Guests were supposed to come to the Function.

21 Chairs were left unoccupied.

So, Number of Guests that came to the Function= 1521-21=1500.
