Answer:

                  Implied Meaning of the Wall

Wall in the poem ‘Mending Wall’ signifies mutual difference, lack of trust, suspicion, and inability to live together like brothers.

Jesus Christ taught mankind, “Love thy neighbors like thy own self.” However, people believe in erecting and maintaining walls among themselves. Though there is no threat of any sort from the people living next door, yet people preferring protecting themselves in walls. They have not evolved up to a level where they can live without walls. Most of the people believe in the principle ‘Good fences make good neighbors.’
