The walls of dams are made thick at the bottom and thin upwards.Why?​

The walls of dam are made thick at the bottom. As we move upwards, the pressure goes on decreasing: so the thickness of wall is made smaller and smaller. ... As we go to the bottom of the dam pressure will increases. So, to withstand this pressure walls are thicker at the bottom.

As we move upwards the pressure gose on decresing so the thikness of wall is made smaller or smaller that is why the wall of dam made thick at the bottom as we go to the bottom of the dam the pressure will increase so the pressure walls are thicker at bottom
