The waste of many industries contain acids .why should we neutralise it before allowing it to mix with water bodies

Because neutrilising it before don't make the water acidic as

as they can cause many problems and we should neutralise it because after going into water without neutralisedit can cause to be dangerous and will affect to water animals and mammal and humans also
