The water on the surface of a pond is covered with a green growth,which has resulted in the death of all fishes in the pond.what could have been the cause of the death of the fish?

the green growth is also know n as algae
which stops the sunlight to reach to the pond surface and the surface plants do no survive

The growing of green growth on the surface of pond is of algae . This is known as Eutrophication . Due to the eutrophication the supply of oxygen decreases as the algae growth increases leading to the deficiency of oxygen into the water . Resulting into the Death of the aquatic animals .
