The new frequency of the sound wave is 2063 Hz.
Explanation:
The wavelength of sound in medium 1,
The wavelength of sound in medium 2, .
The frequency of the sound in medium 1, .
Use velocity, wavelength and frequency relation as,
Here v is the velocity.
For first medium,
v = 1650 Hz x 0.2 m
v = 330 m/s.
As second medium is same as first, so velocity of sound is same for both the medium.
Now frequency for wavelength 16 cm,
= 2063 Hz.
Thus, new frequency of the sound wave is 2063 Hz.
