The wavelength of a spectral line of caesium is 460 nm. Calculate the frequency of the line.​

When the wavelength of a spectral line of Cesium is 460nm,

frequency of the line can be given by, speed of light in vaccum/wavelength of spectral line of Cesium,

speed of light in vaccum = 3 × 10^8 m/s and wavelength of spectral line of Cesium = 460nm = 460 × 10^-9 ,

so, frequency = 3 × 10^8/(460 × 10^-9)

= 0.006521 × 10^17 Hz

= 6.521 × 10¹⁴ Hz.
