The wavelength of radiation emitted when in He+ electron falls from infinity to stationary state is 22 nm.

Explanation:

  • In case of a single positive Helium ion, the ion is similar to hydrogen. Now if an electron falls from infinity to the stationary state then we take n1 as infinity and n2 as 1.
  • Rydberg constant is equal to \bold{1.097 \times 10^{7} m^{-1}}. The atomic no of helium is 2. Now the formula for calculating for calculating the Wavelength is given by the equation,

              \bold{\frac{1}{w}=1.097 \times 10^{7} \times 2^{2}} ( 1/1 - 1/infinity)

  • Here w is the wavelength of light in meter.
  • On calculating the value of w we find that w = 22 nm.
