the wavelength of waves produced on the surface of water is 20 cm if the wave velocity of 24 m s-1 calculate the number of waves produced in one second and the time in which one waves is produced​

  • Where
  • v=velocity.
  • n= frequency
  • y=wavelenght

  • Given,
  • v=24 m/s ; y=20 cm=0.2m

  • Therefore, using the formula given above

  • n=v/y=24/0.2=120 /sec

The number of waves produced in 1 sec is 120

And time in which 1 wave is produced

=1/120 sec

=0.0083 sec
