The poet Robert Frost was really negative in the first stanza. He is depressed,unlucky and have a fear within him in the first stanza.In this condition he is standing below a hemlock tree which indicates negativity,where a crow above shook himself,here the crow also indicates negativity.Hence the poet was very depressed and was standing below a hemlock tree.
