Chubukov , Natalya and lomov fight over petty issues. They do not think about the proposal and are more interested in proving themselves correct. They even abuse each other and say hurtful words. This is against the behavior and mannerisms of neighbours. One should maintain a healthy relationship with their neighbour's and should always try to resolve them peacefully.
If I were in place of chubukov I would have tried to pacify Natalya and lomov instead of joining the fight. I would have told them not to fight over petty things and think about the proposal and their future.
