Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

The weekly wages of 14 employees in restaurant as follows. (in rupees) 625,525, 550, 750,775,650, 525, 600,550,525, 700, 800, 725,525 .

To find :-

Find the mean, median, mode and range of the given data. ?

Solution :-

Given that

The weekly wages of 14 employees in restaurant as follows. (in rupees) 625,525, 550, 750,775,650, 525, 600,550,525, 700, 800, 725,525 .

Mean :-

Sum of all observations = 625+525+550+ 750+775+650+525+600+550+525+700+800+725+525 = 8825

Number of all observations = 14

We know that

Mean = Sum of all observations/Number of all observations

=> Mean = 8825/14

=> Mean = 630.3571...

Therefore, Mean = Rs. 630.36

Median :-

On writing the given observations into ascending order then

525,525,525,525,550,550,600,625,650,700,,725,750,775,800

Number of all observations = 14

14 is an even number

We know that

If the number of observations is'n'an even number then Median of the data is the average of (n/2)th and (n/2)+1 th observations.

n/2th observation

= 14/2

= 7th observation

= 600

(n/2)+1 th observation

= 7+1 th observation

= 8 th observation

= 625

Median = (600+625)/2

=> Median = 1225/2

=> Median = 612.5

Therefore, Median = Rs.612.5

Mode :-

On writing the given observations into ascending order then

525,525,525,525,550,550,600,625,650,700,,725,750,775,800

525 occurs 4 times in the given data

We know that

Mode is the most frequent occuring observation of the given data .

Therefore , Mode = Rs. 525

Range :-

On writing the given observations into ascending order then

525,525,525,525,550,550,600,625,650,700,,725,750,775,800

Heighest value = 800

Lowest value = 525

We know that

Range = Heighest value-Lowest value

=> Range = 800-525

=> Range = 275

Therefore, Range = Rs. 275

Answer:-

i) Mean of the data = Rs. 630.36

ii) Median of the data = Rs. 612.5

iii) Mode of the data = Rs. 525

iv) Range of the data = Rs. 275

Used formulae:-

Mean :-

→Sum of all observations/Number of all observations

Median :-

→ If the number of observations is'n'an even number then Median of the data is the average of (n/2)th and (n/2)+1 th observations.

n/2th observation

Mode :-

→ Mode is the most frequent occuring observation of the given data .

Range :-

→ Heighest value-Lowest value
