If 12  sheets of paper weigh   40 grams
    X sheets of paper weight    16  2/3  or  50/3  grams

 X = \frac{12*50/3}{40}=5

Answer is 5 sheets.

Heya user,

--> 40 grams = 12 sheets
=> 1 gram = 12 / 40 sheets
=> 16 + 2/3 gram = 50 / 3 grams = [ 50 / 3 ] * [ 12 / 40 ] sheets
=> [ 50 / 3 ] grams = 5 sheets
=> [ 50 / 3 ] * 1000 grams = 5000 sheets
=> [ 50 / 3 ] kg = 5000 sheets

Sooo, 5000 sheets will weigh the required amount
