Arrenging the data in ascending

order,

9.8 , 10.6 , 12.7 , 14.3 , 14.4 , 15 , 16.5 ,

17.2

Number of terms = n = 8 ( even )

Median = average ( n/2 and n/2 + 1 ) the terms

= Average ( 8/2 , 8/2 + 1 ) th terms

= Average of 4th and 5th terms

= ( 14.3 + 14.4 )/2

= 28.7/2

= 14.35

Therefore ,

Required median = 14.35
