Weight of a body is the force applied on it by acceleration due to gravity. Thus the weight of a body is the product of its mass and acceleration due to gravity of that planet.

Now it is given that :-

  • Weight of body = 196N
  • Acceleration due to gravity on earth = 9.8
  • Mass of body = ?

Now we can say that :-

\maltese \: w = mass \:  \times acceleration

After putting the values we can say :-

\mapsto \: 196 = 9.8m

\mapsto \: m =  \frac{196}{9.8}

\mapsto \: m =  \cancel\frac{196}{9.8}

\mapsto \: m = 2 0kg

Therefore the mass of given body is 20kg.
