Answer:

Explanation:

W=500N AT REST

W2=750N WHEN LIFT IS GOING UPWARD GRAVITTIONAL FORCE IS ACTING

F=MA

750=500A

A= 750/500

A=1.5 M/S

Answer:

5 m/s^2

Explanation:

Let acceleration due to gravity (g) = be 10m/s^2

weight of man (W=mg) = 500N

apparent weight of man (R) = 750 N

acceleration of elevator (a) = ?

we know that when an elevator moves upward apparent weight increases and so the equation:

                  R = m(g+a)

                  R = mg+ ma

inserting the values....

                750= 500 + ma

Here m= W/g

            = 500/10 = 50Kg

therefore

            750 = 500 + (50 x a)

             750- 500 = 50x a

              250 = 50 x a

or

  a = 5 m/s^2
